Women at Work Trail

Since January 2025, Xenia has been working with Sheffield Museums on a project highlighting the efforts of women in industry. Women took part in object handling, creative writing (including creating a poem), research in and around Kelham Island Museum and shared their own stories of work and migration. The final outcome of the project is an interactive trail which intends to foster understanding, interest and curiosity around the often hidden roles of women during our industrial past.

The trail can be used via the website and also paper copies can be picked up at Kelham Island Museum. We hope you enjoy the trail and the lesser known stories of the women involved.
